Charles Smith, a desperately unpopular U.S. President facing a landslide defeat days before a November election, attempts to leverage a presidential pardon for a flock of Thanksgiving turkeys into a massive bribe from the American Turkey Association. His scheming collides with demands from his lesbian speechwriter and her partner, who want a presidential proclamation recognizing gay marriage as a condition for her continued service, spiraling into a farcical negotiation of favors, desperation, and political absurdity.
