Day of the Hog (2026)

Two hedgehogs confront survival, love, and an uncertain winter in dark woodland satire. Set in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, Day of the Hog follows two hedgehogs preparing for Groundhog Day as the prospect of six more weeks of winter threatens their home and survival. What begins as an absurdist woodland comedy gradually narrows its focus to the pressures of scarcity, partnership, and endurance as the shadow of Punxsutawney Phil hangs over their future. The play is a new work that blends animal fable, dark comedy, and social satire. Through the perspective of its hedgehog protagonists, the story examines how larger systems and traditions shape the lives of those with little power to influence them.
