Brutal Imagination (2002)

Directed by Diane Paulus

Based on Cornelius Eady's National Book Award-finalist poetry collection, this play with music imagines nine days of confrontation between Susan Smith — the South Carolina mother who murdered her children and falsely blamed a Black man — and the imaginary stranger she invented to shift the blame.
