In early 20th-century Bronx tenements, young Moss Hart dreams of escaping poverty through the theater, guided by his eccentric Aunt Kate's love of drama. Adapted from Hart's celebrated memoir, the play follows his determined climb from impoverished outer-borough beginnings to a fateful collaboration with the legendary George S. Kaufman on the comedy "Once in a Lifetime." Three actors portray Hart at different ages as he navigates family struggles, artistic ambition, and the agonizing rewrites that forge a Broadway career.
