A Seat at the Table (2016)

By Solange

Soft, unhurried R&B built around themes of Black identity, grief and self-possession, with interludes and guest turns from Lil Wayne, Q-Tip, Sampha and Kelela. Solange, who founded her own label Saint Records, spent from 2013 to 2016 recording it. It became her first number one on the Billboard 200, and the single "Cranes in the Sky" won the Grammy for Best R&B Performance.
