Watermark (1988)

By Enya

Layers of multi-tracked vocals float over keyboards and percussion, drawing on Celtic, ambient and new-age styles. Irish singer and composer Enya (Enya, 1987) recorded it over ten months with producer Nicky Ryan and lyricist Roma Ryan, under a contract that gave her creative freedom and no deadlines. Its single "Orinoco Flow" spent three weeks at number 1 in the UK.
