Trans-Europe Express (1977)

By Kraftwerk

Sequenced rhythms, minimal melodies and processed vocals ride along on a record about European rail travel, the continent itself, and the gap between appearance and reality. German electronic group Kraftwerk recorded it in Düsseldorf in 1976 and released it in 1977, with singles "Trans-Europe Express" and "Showroom Dummies." It placed 30th in The Village Voice's 1977 Pazz & Jop critics' poll.
