The Nutcracker (1995)
Unfolds on Christmas Eve inside a child's imagination, where a Nutcracker doll comes to life, in a two-act ballet score from 1892 by Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (The Sleeping Beauty). The music is known for its use of the celesta, and the shorter Nutcracker Suite premiered nine months before the full staged ballet. For anyone drawn to orchestral storytelling.
