Jazz orchestration meets a rock and roll beat on this 1959 soundtrack to the detective series Peter Gunn, with a guitar and piano ostinato, nervous saxophones and shouting brass. Composer Henry Mancini built the title theme on a single chord. It was the first record to win the Grammy for Album of the Year.
