The Low End Theory (1991)

Upright bass, spare drum breaks and jazz samples carry the back and forth between Q-Tip and Phife Dawg, who trade social commentary, word play and jokes. The 1991 second record from New York group A Tribe Called Quest (People's Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm) produced "Check the Rhime" and "Scenario," and Rolling Stone ranked it 43rd on its 500 Greatest Albums list.
