The Doors (1967)
Organ-driven rock that pulls in blues, jazz and pop, from the breakthrough single "Light My Fire" to the closing "The End" and its improvised Oedipal spoken-word passage. The Los Angeles band worked the songs up onstage at the Whisky a Go Go in 1966 before recording them in Hollywood. The Library of Congress added it to the National Recording Registry in 2015.
