The Blue Notebooks (2004)
Piano, strings and spoken word circle each other in quiet, mournful pieces conceived as a protest against the 2003 invasion of Iraq and violence in general. It is the second album by neo-classical composer and producer Max Richter, who later reworked Vivaldi's Four Seasons on 2012's Recomposed. For fans of slow, sombre modern classical music.
