Station to Station (1976)
Funk and soul rhythms stretch into cold, motorik grooves borrowed from Neu! and Kraftwerk, with lyrics circling Nietzsche, Crowley and religion. English singer David Bowie (Young Americans) cut it in Los Angeles in 1975 amid a cocaine addiction that erased his memory of the sessions, introducing his Thin White Duke persona. It reached the top five in the UK and US.
