Stardust (1978)

By Willie Nelson

Ten American pop standards sung plainly over warm, unhurried arrangements, recorded in just ten days with producer Booker T. Jones. Willie Nelson, then known as an outlaw country singer, picked the songs from among his own favorites, a choice that worried his label. It topped Billboard's country albums chart, and his version of "Georgia on My Mind" won a 1979 Grammy.
