Pony (2019)

By Orville Peck

Baritone country ballads about heartbreak, rodeo queens and lonesome highways, sung over reverb heavy guitars that borrow from goth, shoegaze and surf rock. It is the 2019 debut by Orville Peck, a masked South African country singer. The album made the initial longlist for the 2019 Polaris Music Prize and earned a Juno nomination for Alternative Album of the Year.
