Phases and Stages (1974)

By Willie Nelson

A concept record that follows a marriage falling apart, with side one telling the woman's side of the divorce and side two the man's. Willie Nelson, the Texas country singer-songwriter who had just released Shotgun Willie, cut it at Muscle Shoals Sound Studios in two days with producer Jerry Wexler. The single "Bloody Mary Morning" reached number 17 on Billboard's country chart.
