My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (2010)

By Kanye West

Maximalist rap built on soul samples, orchestral swells and electro production, turning celebrity, consumer culture and self-mythology into something both grand and uneasy. Kanye West recorded it in Hawaii after the backlash to his interruption of Taylor Swift at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, with guests including Nicki Minaj, Jay-Z, Rihanna and Bon Iver. It won Best Rap Album at the 2012 Grammys.
