Music from Big Pink (1968)
Blends country, folk, blues, R&B and soul into a loose, rustic kind of rock, much of it written in a house called Big Pink in West Saugerties, New York, where three of the members lived. It was the 1968 debut by the Band, the Canadian-American group who had backed Bob Dylan on his 1966 tour as the Hawks. Dylan painted the cover.
