Master of Puppets (1986)
Thrash metal built on fast, layered riffs and long arrangements, with lyrics about control, addiction and war. Metallica, the American band, recorded it in Copenhagen with producer Flemming Rasmussen, and it was the last album with bassist Cliff Burton, who died in a bus crash in 1986. In 2015 it became the first metal recording added to the Library of Congress National Recording Registry.
