Luck and Strange (2024)

By David Gilmour

A set of songs about mortality and aging, built on Gilmour's guitar and lyrics written mostly by his wife, the novelist Polly Samson. Gilmour, the singer and guitarist of Pink Floyd, made the title track around keyboards recorded in 2007 by bandmate Richard Wright, who died the following year. Released in September 2024, it became his third UK number one album.
