Live at the Apollo (1963)

By James Brown

Captures an R&B revue in full flight: James Brown and the Famous Flames tearing through their stage show at Harlem's Apollo Theater in October 1962, with screaming, near deafening crowd noise swelling through the ballad medleys. Released in 1963, it became Brown's commercial breakthrough and was added to the Library of Congress National Recording Registry in 2004.
