Let It Be (1970)
Conceived as a back to basics rock and roll session in January 1969, the final Beatles studio album catches a band coming apart, with three tracks from their last public show on a London rooftop. Released in May 1970, a month after the break up, it topped the UK and US charts while critics attacked Phil Spector's orchestral overdubs.
