Joanne (2016)

By Lady Gaga

Strips the dance-pop back to soft rock and country-tinged Americana, putting the vocals up front on songs about family and grief, shaped by the death of the singer's aunt Joanne. Lady Gaga made the 2016 record with producers Mark Ronson and BloodPop. It topped the US chart, and the title track won a Grammy for Best Pop Solo Performance.
