Innervisions (1973)

Soul and funk built on synthesizers, with lyrics that turn from romance toward politics and race: the single "Living for the City" follows a Black family's struggle from Mississippi to New York. Stevie Wonder made it in 1973, after Talking Book. It won Album of the Year at the 16th Grammy Awards.
