Hejira (1976)

Long, lyrically dense songs about driving, leaving and restlessness, written during months on the road in 1975 and 1976 and set to loose, jazz-leaning arrangements built around Jaco Pastorius's fretless bass. Canadian singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell released it in 1976 as her eighth studio album, led by the single "Coyote." It reached No. 13 on the Billboard 200.
