Getz/Gilberto (1964)
Soft tenor saxophone drifts over quiet nylon string guitar and Portuguese vocals across ten bossa nova and jazz tracks. American saxophonist Stan Getz joins Brazilian guitarist Joao Gilberto and pianist Antonio Carlos Jobim, who wrote many of the songs, with Astrud Gilberto singing "The Girl from Ipanema". It was the first non-American album to win the Grammy for Album of the Year.
