Exile on Main St. (1972)

By The Rolling Stones

A sprawling double album running through Delta blues, gospel, country and rock and roll, with lyrics circling hedonism, sex and nostalgia. The Rolling Stones cut most of it at night in a rented French villa after becoming tax exiles, using a mobile recording unit. It topped the charts in six countries and yielded the top ten single "Tumbling Dice."
