Erotica (1992)

By Madonna

Slinky hip hop, house and techno beats carry a concept record narrated by Madonna's alter ego Mistress Dita, working through sadomasochism, homophobia and romance in the era of HIV/AIDS. Produced with Shep Pettibone ("Vogue") and Andre Betts, the 1992 album arrived alongside her explicit photo book Sex and sent "Deeper and Deeper" into the Billboard Hot 100 top ten.
