Clube da Esquina (1972)
A double album folding Brazilian MPB into baroque pop, folk, jazz and psychedelia, written about friendship, liberty and youth under the country's military dictatorship. Milton Nascimento recorded it in 1971 with Lo Borges and the Minas Gerais collective they helped found. Brazilian critics dismissed it at the time; in 2022 the Discoteca Basica podcast named it the greatest Brazilian album ever.
