Bitches Brew (1970)

By Miles Davis

Electric pianos, guitar and trumpet stretch across long, loose improvisations, trading traditional jazz rhythms for rock-influenced grooves that producer Teo Macero edited together from three days of 1969 sessions. Trumpeter and bandleader Miles Davis (In a Silent Way) pushed the experiment further here. It won the 1971 Grammy for Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album.
