B'Day (2006)
Funk and R&B built on live instrumentation, with hip hop and pop edges and lyrics shaped by Beyonce's role in the film Dreamgirls. The American singer, formerly of Destiny's Child, recorded the whole thing in two weeks in April 2006, working with the Neptunes, Ne-Yo and Swizz Beatz. It won Best Contemporary R&B Album at the 2007 Grammys and produced the number one single Irreplaceable.
