Baduizm (1997)
Warm, jazz-inflected soul built on loose basslines and unhurried grooves, with lyrics about love, karma and self-possession. It is the 1997 debut by Texas singer-songwriter Erykah Badu, recorded in New York, Philadelphia and Dallas, and it produced the single "On & On". It debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 and won the Grammy for Best R&B Album. For fans of neo-soul.
