Aja (1977)

By Steely Dan

Seven long, jazz-inflected rock songs, built from immaculate studio takes and sung in a wry, world-weary voice. Steely Dan, the duo of Walter Becker and Donald Fagen, hired nearly 40 session musicians for it. The 1977 album reached number three on the Billboard chart, spawned the single "Peg", and entered the Library of Congress National Recording Registry in 2010.
