9 to 5 and Odd Jobs (1980)
A concept album about working life, mixing Parton originals with folk and country songs by Woody Guthrie, Mel Tillis and Merle Travis in understated pop-country arrangements. It is anchored by "9 to 5," the theme to the film Parton made with Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin. The record spent 10 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard's country albums chart.
